Igne’s specialist drilling business unit supports a wide range of clean energy and infrastructure projects, from private water supplies to complex geothermal systems. That includes deep borehole drilling for mine water geothermal - an area where Igne is proud to be helping turn the UK’s industrial legacy into a clean, sustainable future.
Ben Cornish BSc (Hons), Director of Specialist Drilling, studied Exploration and Resource Geology at Cardiff University. Ben started his professional career working in Australia as an Exploration Geologist exploring remote locations in the search for metalliferous and economic metals and minerals. On return to the UK, Ben worked as Engineering Geologist before specialising in the domestic Land Drilling industry. Ben joined Igne in 2023 to lead their service offering for Specialist Drilling which includes; Geothermal Drilling, Water Wells and associated services and specialist site investigation and in situ testing services.
